Design that Matters was featured in a case study for USAID’s Idea to Impact Report. The case study of DtM’s Firefly project emphasized that good design must consider the needs of a large number of stakeholders, including but not limited to users. Stakeholders also include manufacturers, distributors, administrators, government officials, regulators, foreign donors, maintenance workers, nurses, and patients. In developing Firefly, DtM took into account the needs of various members of the broader customer ecosystem, balancing their needs and constraints to create a product that has been successfully adopted in 10 developing countries to date.
